UCC works in editor but breaks in build with a new character

Hello,

I recently made a new character with UCC. It worked fine, the character moves and shoots, and everything seemed ok, but if I build a deliverable, as soon as I start the program it crashes to desktop instantly.

I can still build a scene starting in the Obsive UCC demo scene and it builds, and I can run around as nolan, no problem. I can build the scene without a character and it builds and runs, it's only when I add the new character that there's issues.

Anyway you might be able to help?

I'm using Unity 2020.2.7f1.

Thank you,
-Loki

Sounds like an issue with your character. Have you checked crash logs? My guess with little info is that something is wrong with the shaders/materials.

Hi,
sorry it took so long to find the crash logs,
it looks like I ran out of memory????

Yeah that's a memory issue - have you had this happen with other Unity builds before?

Possibly, I once had a really big hub world map crash to desktop no matter what I tried. I'm using a high quality Daz3d Character, if that matters.... Works fine in editor. :\

Anything that might help this to work? I promised my aunt a decent game, I don't want to use only Nolans.....

Unfortunately it's not a UCC-specific thing so not much I can recommend other than asking on the Unity forums. I'd also be interested to know what your PC specs are.

Hm yeah sorry I don't know what could be causing this, hopefully someone at the Unity forums has more knowledge on this than me.
