Third Person Top Down View (quick set up)

Thought this may be useful for beginners or anyone wanting a quick set up for a decent top down view (Move direction set as player facing in).

Top down (Birds eye view) with slight angle forward looking down at player; View quick set up where the character looks and moves in look direction with just left stick applied for movement and aim;

Assuming you have already set up a character and camera and it's currently in a view such as 3rd person adventure type view with character able
to move correctly towards and away from the camera etc;

Take your time to follow all steps involved below;

Character locomotion component (on the inspector);

Select;
Movement type (from the plus sign)
Then make Third person top down active by selecting.

Third person top down just beneath select;

Third person top down (tick)
look in move direction (tick)
Head (untick)

Camera controller (in the inspector);

Again just Select third person top down
Movement type (from the plus sign)
Then make Third person top down active by selecting.

Character drag in
Anchor to head

You'll see it looks directly down on player;

On the camera settings; Pitch limit set range; 50-90 range gets a good sleight 3d top down angle with rotation view x positioned so not looking directly down at player. 40-90 works well too

Probably want auto-aim on too.

Depending how you have set up your firing method you may need to alter the logic for this view type

When you press play the view type should take effect.
