Hello, can you tell me what the Movement System's Cover Task is supposed to do?
Isn't the idea of cover that you take cover from a target so they can't see you anymore?
The Cover Task doesn't seem to have any kind of "target" to hide from.
The cover task will seek for a cover location based on the set layers. It doesn't know the concept of a target though so you could place it before a task such as within distance to only have it start when a target is within range.
What is the definition of cover then? Is it cover from a direction? from all around 360 degrees? Or does it just mean something like standing next to a wall?
It's standing on the opposite side of the found object. For the Deathmatch AI Kit we took a different approach and manually specified the cover locations which works out well for finer grain control.
