After a month and a half of some sleepless nights and me getting to know Blender really well, the new unit graphics for War Evolved has been completed! The update was submitted this past Thursday, and should be available within the next week or two.
All 31 units were completely remade from scratch. Each unit has four animations associated with them – run, attack, idle, and die. There is an average of about 5 frames exported for each animation. This comes out to about 600 new frames for this update – wow! It should almost have been War Evolved 2
The 14 turrets were also completely remade.
I also plan on remaking the bases and backgrounds. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it in this update. These will be switched out in version 1.5.1, which we are planning on submitted at the end of December. It is with this version that we will release the iPad version of War Evolved. In addition to the new graphics, the iPad version will contain a few extra really cool features. Justin will blog about that later this month.
